The Goal of the Mr. and Miss Grand Prix Pageant is to raise funds and awareness for the transgender community. All proceeds of Grand Prix support Pillow Talk, a transgender support group that promotes positive self-esteem and healthy living. Pillow Talk assists transgender clients with meeting their educational goals, finding gainful employment, and securing stable housing.
Grand Prix also seeks celebrate the performance community by providing a space where gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender entertainers can demonstrate their talents, skills, and abilities.
In March of 2010, GeJoe Offutt, Marissa Miller, and Marcus Sanders began to brainstorm an idea that would soon manifest into the Miss Grand Prix Pageant. Gejoe and his entertainment group, New Life Entertainment Group, partnered with Brothers United Inc. to produce Miss Grand Prix 2010. GeJoe immediately placed a call to the talented CoCo Van Cartier who accepted the title of Miss Grand Prix Emeritus.
Grand Prix, which was held at the Ten Night Club, featured three contestants and hosted several hundred patrons. The event was hosted on the last Sunday in May, which is where the pageant received its name. The last Sunday in May is historically known as “Indy 500 Day”. Miss Grand Prix was named in honor of one of the largest sporting events in the world, the Indy 500.
In 2012, Brothers United teamed up with Yella Boi Productions and the birth of the very 1st Mr. Grand Prix soon followed. Since its inception, the Mr. and Miss Grand Prix Pageant has continues to grow tremendously. Thank you for joining a distinguished group of performers.
