RSVP strongly recommended to ensure availability of seating – Please RSVP and learn more HERE: http://www.lambdalegal.org/marriageupdate-indy Following last year’s landmark Supreme Court’s ruling striking down Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and the extraordinary state-wide coalition effort to push back the discriminatory HJR-3 in Indiana, Lambda Legal filed a federal lawsuit, Baskin v. Bogan, on behalf of five same-sex couples seeking the freedom to marry and respect for out-of-state marriages in Indiana. On June 25th, U.S. District Court Judge Richard L. Young ruled that Indiana’s discriminatory ban on marriage for same-sex couples is unconstitutional! Lambda Legal continues our fight in federal court to preserve this victory for same-sex couples in the Hoosier state, including our clients Amy Sandler and Niki Quasney, who are battling cancer. With this case moving through the courts and the state determined to oppose us, questions remain about how the fight for marriage will be resolved in the courts and what it means for same-sex couples and their families in Indiana: What do recent court rulings means for couples who wish to marry?
