the ivy has been is always will be our favorite place in indy.
nice
nice place to eat and meet new people
A while ago.
I was there last time I lived in Indy. I thought the food (at any time) was delicious and well priced. The staff was always courteous and the guests were always varied and intriguing. I always enjoyed myself when I was there and hope it's the same when I return this fall.
P.S. I always enjoyed 'Indypolarbear'.
A somwhat decent gay bar.
Wanted a late-night bite and so many places close their kitchens early on Thursday nights if they're slow, so Ivys can always be depened on to be open, albeit with their Extended Latenight Menu (ELM), not the usual dinner menu. That have a great selection on their ELM. Salads, and soups, sandwiches and appetizers as well as pizza and lasagna. We started with the appetizer combo platter. Fried mozzarella, fried pickles, fried mushrooms, fried onion rings and fried chicken wings. One might think that's a lot of fried, but I am not one of those people. It was great, especially when paired with some mild or spicy dipping sauces. For my meal I was lulled into sweet blissful states of comfort with their toasted cheddar cheese on sourdough. Other breads and cheeses are available but I find the hearty sourdow not only holds up to the butter and grilling but add some edge to the taste of the cheddar. The coleslaw that came with it was creamy as I like it but a little lukewarm which made me go hmmmmm. My companion had their burger and potato salad. The burger was reported to be juicy and the potatoe salad also very creamy. Dessert was the caramel turtle cheesecake (just an ordinary slice of cheescake with caramel sauce on top along with pecans and then chocolate syrup drizzled over the whoe thing) and their 24-Karat cake (carrot cake, get it?) Our server was attentive and our glasses were constantly refilled. Highly recommended as a late night place to eat.
great staff...that's about it.
Came in for dinner while in town on business. Great portobello strips for the appetizer, however it went downhill from there. Luckily the waiter and Cross, the bartender, had great personalities to keep me in the drunken, smoke filled joint!
Worth the visit.
I was here with an out of town friend last weekend. Had the raspberry chicken and ate like a pig. Baked potato, sweet rolls, great vegetable medley, salad. I was stuffed The meal was priced really well. The server was very polite, the only issue we had was my friend had ordered the prime rib special and they had run out, but she had debated the two specials to begin with & was not disappointed in her shrimp.
I would go back in a heart beat. Loved it!!!
Loved It!!!
This was such a gay-friendly place!!! Loved it!!! The food was great, with a great price, same goes 4 the drinks...& the staff was so polite & on point....Just loved It!!!!
It's a favorite.
Ivy's has been a favorite of mine for years. The bartenders and servers are friendly, so are the owners, John & Chuck. Food is good enough to keep me coming back. Drinks are strong, if you like "gay shots" Ivy's is your place.
Good Food
We had good food and service however they were not busy at all. We went in twice during our visit there and about a half dozen people is all they ever had there. But we did enjoy the food.
Fantastic, Clean, Friendly, Fresh
I adore this restaurant, they are delicious, polite and friendly, clean and have great service! Their decor changes ever couple weeks or so--it keeps things fresh and exciting! Their waiters are as awesome as their food! Good mix of people-not just young or old. Definately recommended!
