Gregs Indy Formerly: Our Place

98% love it
Indy's hottest gay bar with daily drink specials to die for
Not only is this the oldest gay Levi-leather bar in the city, but it has also fought for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility for nearly 40 years of business. A place of joy, amazing drink specials every day, and sweaty bodies gyrating all night make Gregs Indy one of the premier spots in the city.

      Not a review - a question
Hi, will be visiting Indy in the next several weeks - I don't go out much anymore but when traveling I do, nice to socialize and of course maybe find someone who can give it to you up the can! (safely) - I was wondering if Greg's is the place to go in Indy as far as the hottest guys and the best opportunity to find Mr. Right Now ;) Please let me know. Sorry if my question offends in an area really meant for reviews, if there's a place to ask such questions on this site, please let me know, peace out!

Great place to go before 8
I love going to Greg's as long as I go before 8. I have been going there consistently since I turned 21 (9 years ago). It has always been great staff-wise. I have always had to leave after 8 though. There seem to be a lot of inherently racist people that frequent the bar later in the evening and; honestly, it's difficult to deal with. I go there for a welcoming atmosphere and the absolute ignorance of some of the guests is too much to deal with. I was attacked and called a racist because I defended people of color. This is not acceptable in any LGBT establishment. We need to support each other, not have drunken fools running around picking fights with people. I won't go back unless it is before 8, which seems to be the time for the racist twats come out to show their ass. I do love the staff and the service. I tend to spend a lot of money and tip well, but honestly cannot handle the later crowd. This is the second night I have had ruined by such inappropriate guests.

      Chill AF
The night I went, it wasn't super busy. My friend and I got to play darts and pool, which was a lot of fun. The bar tender we were helped by was awesome! I asked for a drink he didn't know and he immediately looked it up so he could make it.

      It's okay
The music could be better. The bartenders are nice. The outside area is a good spot.

      Nice place
Usually stop in here when I come into Indy. It's cool, unpretentious and have met some fun people here. Bring cash, as they don't take cards.

Has a little bit of everythig.
Greg's is one of the few bars in Indianapolis that caters to any crowd. Lots of fun happening here and the only place I've been to with a crowded but friendly Country Line Dancing room on Friday nights until midnight (show up at 9:00 for Line Dancing Lessons). The bar is also pretty busy on Saturday nights as well and even host a drag show Monday nights. Any other night of the week it's fairly casual. _________________________________________________ This bar is smoke-free (indoors only)! But also has a back patio for smoking. _________________________________________________ Neither bars accept credit cards, but they do have an ATM machine to get some cash. _________________________________________________ They do not have a VIP section, but they do have second floor seating, which gives a view of the main bar area and a good place to see who is coming in the front door. __________________________________________________ The bathrooms are a little sketch, but what can you expect from a gay bar... ___________________________________________________ Overall, I always have a good time here... except when it's time to push through the crowds on a busy weekend. See you there for Two-Stepping! ___________________________________________________

      Friday night Best Night
Visited thisplace on friday while in INDY. I had a blast with a friend of mines. It ws pack like hell and the drinks were not that expensive. There was cover charge of US4 i think which was cool. Dance to the music and really had a great time. A much more mature crowed was there. I guess if u are looking u cold find something there. I will go back for sure.

      Decent place
As a visitor to Indy I found this place to be a lot of fun. I went on a Friday night and arrived around 10 pm. I had a conversation with the bartender (around mid 50's) who explained what was going on at the bar, how the crowd picks up around 11 pm, then the dance part turns from country line dancing to pop modern music. Things I like: Friendly staff NON SMOKING High energy Friendly customers Things I did not like Did not accept credit cards- I would have spent more money had they accepted them. In 2011 all bars and restaurants should accept cards Parking- maybe there is a place, but it was not obvious to me Layout- As the place gets crowded, it is hard to move from one area to the other, and the crowded layout is responsible Overall, I would say 3.5 stars

      Hates it

      It's fine.
A decent bar. Seems to be a stop for most gay guys on a night out, but I can't say there's anything special about it. Crowd is mixed. The spaces are little awkward. Everything sort of feels like a hallway. I think decent music would go a long way towards making things better.

Matt the bartender is a jewel! Non-smoking is a big plus! Great drink prices and love to watch the country-western dancing on Fri night. Definitely a repeat! Great job guys!

      Non-smoking is a big plus!
Been going for 20 years, the crowd has gotten a lot younger. Nice mix of ages in general, but a lot of under-25, which is not my thing, but a lot of guys like it. Staff is friendly enough. Music is okay. I think there is a bit too much house/techno stuff, I am from the old school and prefer dance music with words. Tuesday and Wednesday nights have great drink specials. Okay in general, I give it a "B".
