Metro
Best club in town! Last Saturday of every month is Metro Night but is good everyday!!! Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays are always big nights!
Best place to go after work on a weeknight
After hopping around from place to place, this was the only place I found that had a sizable crowd and people that I was comfortable with. The crowd was mixed friendly & mixed cliquish. I asked someone where the bathroom was, and he started to tell me something bogus before someone with some sense interrupted and told me where it actually was. That's a hell of a way to leave a good impression on a visitor to your city. What an idiot! Also, they apparently don't dress to impress in Indy, so don't go there with high expectations.
Afternoon on Mass Avenue
I went here on the afternoon of Pride Saturday just to check it out. I can't comment on the food, dance floor (if it exists... I never saw it) or the patio. But the staff was great, the drinks were reasonable, and I made some new Indy native friends here. I loved the Mass Avenue neighborhood as well.
Not a shake and bake place!
The metro is one of my favorite places to go after work with a friend, (or even alone)? Grab a veggie burger (if thats your thing)? And some beers (or cokes), if thats your thing? The atmosphere is quite before 10pm the bartenders and servers are always nice and helpful the beer is good pool tables are nice , the pool sticks are in great shape no need to bring your own, if your like (and thats your thing), enjoy the sport of playing pool with your own pool cue.____________________________________________________________
I've been here a few times over the last few years and somehow missed about, THE BEST PATIO IN TOWN. Seriously, I was here last month and the patio is amazing. Lots of seating, beautiful trees, fenced in so you don't have to look at the alley, great lighting/ambiance. The only down side was that you had to go inside to the bar to get your drink - if there was a server out there to bring them to me, it would have been perfect
nothing special
A friend took me there on a Thursday night, the place was not crowed. We went upstairs and chill for a while. I needed to smoke so i took the ashtray that was turn over to use it. When i did that i foundan open condom over down. I even have the pic to prove it. That was very funny but not nice for business. Its just a bar so if u want to have a drink then visit it.
Boring
This is one of the most boring gay bars I've ever been to. Absolutely nothing special to do here unless you like karaoke, and it's so busy on karaoke night that anyone that isn't a regular has no chance trying to get a song in. Apparently they used to have a dance floor on the second floor...they should definitely bring that back and it MIGHT be worth the trip.
Fun Bar!
A very tradional alternative/gay bar!
Had dinner here on Friday night. The fare is typical bar food with some interesting twists. The drinks were nice and strong, so that was a good start.
We ordered an appetizer samplers with fried pickles, crab balls, and loaded french fries. All delicious! Well prepared!
I ordered the Mass Ave chicken with a baked potato. It was decent. My friend had the steak - why he ordered that I will never know! It looked like a piece of burned beef. Everything was fairly inexpensive, compared to other places in the area.
FYI - this place is an "alternative" club. It is listed on a "gay" web site. So don't go if you're not openminded.
Strong drinks... Confused people
Been here a couple times... Very strong cocktails... Smokey loungey feel... Not many cuties but nice people all around. Bar staff had no idea about a promotion that was advertiesed in the gay rag, but hey... Strong cocktails!!
Disorganized but okay...
Went with friends after work on a Thursday when the local gay rag advertised "Absolut Sponsors from 10:30, Refreshments Provided Till (sic) Midnight." The guys behind the bar had no idea what we were talking about when we asked about the promotion, we had to show them the ad, and even then one of them walked off to find the manager and never came back. For a place that calls itself a "restaurant and bar" there sure wasn't any food to be had, let alone "refreshments provided" (they stop serving food at 10, but they're "working on it"). The downstairs has a divey feel, but the upstairs is a lot cuter, even if it's jam packed with pool tables. The drinks were fairly priced and well poured, and eventually an Absolut rep showed up with thimble-sized shots and a few free XL tee-shirts.
Great atmosphere
This bar has the best atmosphere of any in Indy. Getting into the place is rather strange. There is always a huge crowd right at the entrance. I would move the entrance to the opposite side. Driks are pricy and the food is...well just bad. But it is a great place to meet with friends.
Bring back 1/2 price app.
Over rated! Too expensive for average bar food... should bring back specials.
Not so impressed.
As a former major club promoter in Tampa,FL... Again after visiting all the different clubs.. While this one has upstairs and great appearence.. Drink specials .. hmmm. Don't remember many. And as far as cliental seems to vary. Most here in Indy say Metro is only notorious for its Idol contests etc. Karaoke, however I would strongly suggest Ollys, Gregs, or even Varsity. Dance floor? hmm.. Not sure if I remember one of those, but they do have lots of pool tables up stairs and chatting area. POOR DRINKS! Over priced!
